The story of how we got Spencer - "opportunity Knocks from Newlaithe"

We are both very proud and grateful to have been lucky enough to be able to import this promising young puppy from Vikki Van Beck and Christine Beardsell - Newlaithe Boxers (UK)

It seems it was just meant to be in that we really looking to import a puppy but more looking at males to use in our breeding program going forward.

We had been in touch with Vikki prior to Christmas 2010 regarding getting copies of the infamous "Boxer Blarney" book and ofcourse whilst looking at the Newlaithe website to get contact details came across the picture of "Spencer", then only around 10 weeks of age. We still didn"t really think making enquiries about himbut were more looking at the Newlaithe stud dogs. It was probably a week or so later that we were on the Newlaithe site again and Brian suggested i contact Vikki to see if this puppy was still available. To those people that know Brian and how critical he is of young puppies, particularly males, you will realise that this was a of a suprise.

I actually could not believe my ears as there have been two things in my show career that i have wanted to achieve, one was to go to Crufts Dog Show which i did back in 1995 and the other was to import a dog from the UK. It seemed like if things went to plan i might be able to achieve my second dream.

I didn't hesitate to ring Vikki and to my amazement this beautiful pup was still available. I have to say that Vikki was more than helpful in all aspects of this transaction, she was always available to talk to and could answer most of our questions without delay.

Spencer left the UK on the 11th of Feb 2011 and arrivedin Perth the following day to spend his 30 days in quarrantine which were the longest days of my life i think. We bought Spencer home on Saturday 12th of March and he was very happy to be out of his confinement although had taken everything in stride and was none the worse for wear.

Spencer has been shown 6 times and has recieved 4 minor puppy in group awards, two of which have been under Boxer specialists, Mr Ernie Moore and Mrs Judy Horton on two of these 4 occasions Spencer went on to win minor puppy in show, one being at the Boxer Club Open Show and the other at the Utility Dog Club Show.

We are looking forward to some very exciting times ahead with this young boy who is showing lots promise at this early stage of his life.

Our thanks go to Vikki and Christine for allowing us to import him to Australia. We hope to do you proud!

Keep checking back to watch Spencer's progress!!
